The 1st International Symposium of Technical Safety, Occupational Health and Environment 2024 (ISTESHE 2024) is being organized by the Faculty of Industrial Sciences and Technology (FSTI) at Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) on August 6-7, 2024 in Kuantan, Malaysia.
Background
In an effort to promote excellence in research on technical safety, occupational health, and environmental sustainability, FSTI is hosting ISTESHE 2024 to provide a platform to produce, nurture and sustain a culture revolving around these areas. This event serves as a benchmark for the faculty to facilitate knowledge sharing on current issues and latest research findings related to ensuring safe and healthy working environments.
About ISTESHE 2024
ISTESHE 2024 will be a two-day symposium comprising plenary and parallel sessions in a hybrid format - first day will be face-to-face and second day will be online mode. The theme for the event is “Synergizing Technical Safety, Occupational Health, and Sustainability: Driving Progress Towards a Safer and Healthier Working Environment”.
Participants can submit abstracts and full papers covering but not limited to diverse topics under categories like industrial process safety, occupational health management, environmental engineering and sustainability, safety policies and culture. Key dates, guidelines and more details regarding call for papers are provided in the designated section.
In addition to paper presentations, the event will host eminent keynote speakers from academia, regulatory agencies and leading industries who will be sharing their knowledge and experiences to align with the symposium theme and enable wider capacity building.
Objectives
Key objectives of organizing ISTESHE 2024 are:
- To facilitate collaboration and exchange of ideas among students, academics and professionals working on technical safety, occupational health and environment sustainability.
- To enable industry practitioners to share real-world experiences and challenges to shape better strategies for inculcating positive safety cultures.
- To discuss latest developments in national & global policies guiding the safe management of technical processes and occupational health.
- To create networking and partnership avenues across diverse specializations to promote safety and health at workplaces.
